How do We Begin the Adoption Process?

Welcome to New Life Adoptions. We are so glad you are here. Our agency’s adoption professionals have the wisdom and experience you can trust to guide you through your adoption journey.

We know the road has been difficult for you. We promise to keep you fully informed, provide transparent expectations, and guide you every step of the way. Our experienced staff is a trusted resource in the community.

New Life Adoptions is a Christ-centered ministry that strives to represent God’s love in all we do. Let’s see how we can help you build your family.

Our Criteria for Adoption

  • Must be a man and a woman legally married for at least 3 years. (We will need a copy of your marriage license for your file.)
  • Both are active members of the same Bible-believing church.
  • Both are residents of the state of Texas.
  • The minimum age requirement is 21 years for both prospective parents.
  • Both must profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Both must be legal citizens of the United States.
  • Both must agree with the New Life Adoptions Name and Communication Policies.
  • Both must be willing to embrace open adoption.
  • One parent must commit to being a stay-at-home parent for at least 6 months. Our goal is intentional bonding during this time.

What You Can Expect From Us

New Life Adoptions is a fully licensed child-placing agency in Texas. We provide the following services for couples wishing to adopt:

  • A home study conducted by a New Life Adoption professional.
  • Semi-annual adoption training.
  • Guidance in creating the potential adoptive couple’s profile.
  • Handling of all legal proceedings with our adoption attorney.
  • Complete transparency regarding the wait list.
  • A breakdown of all fees and costs before entering the adoption process, including recommendations for financial assistance.
  • Assistance in facilitating a match between you and an expectant mother or birth mother.
  • Act as an ongoing intermediary to help with adoption relationships.
  • Post-adoption counseling and guidance.

What We Ask of You

The following communication is required of both the birth parents and the adoptive parents:

  • We ask both birth parents to write a letter to their child explaining why they chose to make an adoption plan.
  • Birth parents are encouraged to share photos of themselves and their family members with the adoptive family.
  • We encourage birth parents and adoptive parents to meet before and/or at placement.
  • Adoptive parents and birth parents maintain contact through an ongoing exchange of letters and photos for 18 years.
  • Arrange 2 to 3 visits per year.
